Take a moment to read and share this. This news has yet to hit major media outlets in Pakistan and activists and journalists are hoping this issue is not ignored because of the corruptive web of influence the Pakistani government has over the media.

Today an unprecedented child sex abuse ring was exposed in Pakistan. Here are the details:

  • Summary: Since 2006 until 2014 (eight years), over 280 children ranging from age seven to fourteen were forcibly raped on camera. Over 400 videos were recorded and distributed for money, both online and physically
  • Location: Kasur District, Punjab, Pakistan
  • Perpetrators: A gang of 25 men ranging from teenage boys to middle-aged men. The leaders of this ring are two men in their 40s
  • Boys and girls both were raped by one or multiple men repeatedly
  • Gang members involved in the ring blackmailed the victim’s family for money and sold content of the videos to porn sites as well as local merchants. If any victims attempted to speak out, they were subsequently threatened as well
  • Although the local police were notified of this activity, the gang leaders were influential members of society that corruptively swayed local authorities to become complicit with the crime. The police harassed victims who spoke out and attempted to report the sex abuse ring and also dispersed a protest by locals who were outraged by the inaction of the authorities against the gang suspects.
  • If that wasn’t enough, a local politician, Malik Ahmed Saeed of the PML-N Party, was aware of this criminal activity but still protected the suspected gang leaders by suspending any inquiry into the matter and by paying bribes.
  • Now, a federal investigation is being called for by activists and journalists alike, but traction is yet to be achieved as this story has not completely hit mainstream media

i have not seen anything at all about what’s actually happening down here in australia at the moment despite general sly digs at our government (n while thats all cool n appreciated) im gonna take 5 min of yr time to tell yu about whats really happening right now in 2015 in australia

  • the UN just released a report saying that the Australian Government has actually breached an international anti-torture convention through the way they are treating australia’s asylum seekers (source),  - tony abbott responded to this by belittling the credibility of the UN  and glorifying the government that is responsible for subjecting up to 800 children to sexual abuse (source)
  • asylum seekers are now being kept in detention with VIOLENT CRIMINALS (rapists, killers, etc) - this INCLUDES children (source)
  • the department of immigration has been aware of sexual abuse of children in detention centers for 17 months and have not done a thing - reports show that children as young as 2 have been exposed to this (source, source
  • TO THESE EVENTS, TONY ABBOTT HAS RESPONDED WITH THE STATEMENT OF ‘THINGS HAPPEN’ (source)
  • families that have been granted asylum have been prevented from leaving detention centers (source)
  • TONY ABBOTT HAS MADE IT ILLEGAL FOR HEALTH WORKERS TO REPORT CASES OF SEXUAL ABUSE, ETC THAT OCCUR INSIDE DETENTION CENTERS - PUNISHABLE BY SENTENCING (SOURCE)
  • tony abbott claims to feel ‘no guilt’ about what is happening (source)

India elects first transgender mayor

gaywrites:

For the first time ever, a city in India has elected a transgender person to the office of mayor.

Madhu Kinnar, an independent candidate in the Raigarh Municipal Corporation, beat her opponent by just over 4,000 votes to become the mayor of Raigarh.

Kinnar, 35, funded her electoral campaign working as a singer on Howrah-Mumbai trains in 2014 stopping only after she was asked to represent her local community.

“It was the public support that encouraged me to enter the poll fray for the first time and because of their support only, I emerged as the winner,” Kinnar said.

“People have shown faith in me. I consider this win as love and blessings of people for me. I’ll put in my best efforts to accomplish their dreams,” Kinnar said after winning the election.

HUGE news. Congrats to her!

“The day will soon come when North Koreans are finally free, and liberated concentration camp survivors will have to learn that the world was more interested in the oddities of the oppressors than the torment of the oppressed.”

what’s happenin in korea

You want to know what’s happening? Korea’s education system is literally the most rotten piece of shit to ever exist.

Let me explain the context of the poster on the left.

The average time a kid spends in school in the US is 900 to 1000 hours per year, spread between 175-180 days (x)

In 2007 there were mass student protests in Netherlands because they increased the hours spent in school to 1040 hours per year, or 8 hours a day, 130 days a year. (x)

Korean high schools, on the other hand, enact a 3150 policy, 225 days of school with 14 hours a day, or from 8 am to 10 pm (x)

Also due to the private education sector of hagwons and the fierce competition of Korean high schools, basically after school kids go to hagwons, or personal academies, till 2, 3 in the morning, fit in maybe 4, 5 hours of sleep and go back to school. (x)

It was only in 2012 that schools went from having classes on Saturday excluding the first and third Saturday, and it was only in 2007 when they changed from having class every Saturday. (x)

This system is literally the epitome of the factory schooling system which comes as a result of a capitalistic schooling system and it works kids too hard which is one of the reasons Korean school kids are some of the unhappiest of pretty much any OECD country. (x)

For the photo on the right, physical punishment is not fully banned in Korea.

Since 2011, Seoul, Gyunggido, Gangwondo, and Julla Bukdo have banned the use of direct physical punishment, or basically hitting kids with either tools or physically with their body. That being said that’s basically only about half of South Korea.

Also, indirect physical punishment such as making kids to planks, make them kneel with their hands up, making them run laps, or of the sort is still fully acceptable in all Korean schools. (x)

Anybody who’s a Korean in a Korean school right now already has experience with getting beat by a teacher and some kids still have to deal with physical punishment by teachers.

14 hours a day.

14 hours a day.

14 hours a day.

14. HOURS. A. DAY.

No, You are not allowed to not talk about this! You aren’t allowed!
Pakistan needs your prayers right now! The kids still trapped inside need your prayers right now… the families that lost their children need your prayers right now… the families who still dont know whether their child is dead or alive or hostage NEED YOU!

Its my country, its my city, and its bleeding innocent blood today!

At least 126 people, mostly children, have been killed in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, officials say.

Five or six militants are said to have entered the building. All are said to have been killed or blown themselves up.

The army says most of the school’s 500 students have been evacuated. It is not clear how many are being held hostage.

The attack is being seen as one of the worst yet in Pakistan.

There are still children trapped inside, and sound of gunfire and bombs still continue. The death toll is expected to still rise.
